Being prepared for competition doesn’t stop one we leave the gym. During the last 15 years of work within motorsport I have developed strategies and methods designed to meet the unique demands placed upon the motorsport athlete and the environmental conditions they face. Enhancing preparation in the car or on the bike and allowing the athlete to cope with the pressures and demands they face. Providing the helping hand to facilitate world class performance.

Over the course of a race weekend a variety of physiological measurements are monitored to allow allow individual physical preparation and recovery to be optimised. These include:

  • Resting heart rate

  • Hydration

  • Weight

  • Respiration rate

  • Core body temperature

  • G-Forces on the driver

  • Body fat percentage

  • Fatigue

  • Recovery

  • Environmental and climatic conditions

PHYSIOLOGICAL MONITORING

Much like a warm up in the gym, how you prepare for competition as an athlete is fundamental to entering the competitive areas primed to perform at your best.

  • Individualised warm ups before each stint

  • Real time performance and physiological analysis over the race weekend

  • Nutritional strategies for athletes and team

  • Bespoke hydration monitoring and management

  • Individualised recovery strategies. Including sports massage, nutrition, stretching, rehydration and cryotherapy.

  • Psychological preparation

  • Kit preparation

  • Time management

  • Individual travel protocols to help minimise the effects of jet lag

  • Physiological and biomechanics analysis of pit stops for the race team to minimise injury risk and reduce errors.

  • Assistance of logistics for PR and media obligations.

WHY?

Huge attention is paid to optimising the performance and set up of the car, yet this same level of attention sent paid to the athlete.

By monitoring the physiological variables over the weekend and optimising the physical and mental preparation of the driver we can optimise the performance. Ultimately not just elevating the level of physical performance for the athlete but increasing alertness, enhancing recovery and reducing the number of errors through delaying the onset of fatigue and the impact this has on decision making, reactions, coordination and strength.
